A rifle has one purpose—to reach out and tag the target at longer distances than a handgun. However, that’s not as easy as it sounds. The longer the distance, the harder it is to aim at the target. The slightest movement of the barrel can move the point of aim (POA), which means the projectile would impact far from where you wanted it to hit.

That’s precisely why all long-range shooting requires absolute stability of the platform for optimal accuracy. In case the muzzle (the front part of the barrel from where the round exits the rifle) moves at the critical moment, you may miss that all-important shot. In short, the accuracy of your weapon relies to a great extent on the stability of the barrel. This holds particularly true if you want to shoot as accurately and rapidly as possible.

This is the part where a high-quality bipod comes into the picture. While a veritable plethora of bipods exist for stabilizing your fine weapon—not all of them can do the job adequately enough.

This is particularly true for any number of heavy big-bore centerfire rifles. Such rifles are large, bulky, and unwieldy. On top of that, they generate an inordinate amount of recoil. This means that a traditional bipod might not be capable of handling the weight of the rifle—nor its massive recoil impulse. Worst of all, it might wobble or even out-rightly snap at the critical moment when you have your trophy animal in your sights. Such a bipod is hardly any better than no bipod at all.

The Magpul MLOK Bipod: Just the Accessory You Need for Your Rifle!

That’s why a really high-quality bipod is so necessary for your rifle. Speaking of which, there are few that fit the bill as well as the Magpul MLOK Bipod. Firearms aficionados know Magpul to be a premier name in the world of weapons’ accessories. This is a top-tier brand with extremely high-quality standards.

Their bipod is just like all of their other products in terms of durability and performance and can survive in the most rugged environments thanks to its test mil-spec 6061 T-6 sturdy aluminum construction. It is further reinforced with steel so that it can handle the recoil of the most potent rifles available. It also comes with spring-tensioned legs so it can be stowed forward whenever the weapon needs to be stored. However, it is instantly deployable with the flick of your hand.

It offers seamless compatibility (courtesy its M-LOK slots) with all AR platform rifles. Even though it’s an extremely tough piece of kit, it’s also very light and clocks in at 11 ounces so it won’t disbalance your rifle or make it front heavy.

The Maglock MLOK Bipod is available in different colors—and is just what you need for your next range visit or hunting trip.
