As far as pistols go, it would be hard to find a handgun quite as rugged, reliable, and accurate as the SIG P226. For many knowledgeable firearms enthusiasts, it is the de facto standard against which all handguns are judged. This fine weapon was chosen by the ‘elite of the elite’ of our nation’s warriors, i.e., the US Navy SEALs who used it as their primary sidearm for frontline duty. Since these highly trained professionals are the tip of the spear in many combat operations, they have been forced to use their sidearms a lot—effectively making the SIG P226 one of the single most battle-proven handguns in existence today.

However, it is pertinent to note that most modern pistols are only as reliable as their magazines. Many low-quality aftermarket magazines lead to feeding and jamming issues. Sometimes, the follower might tilt during firing, which leads to an FTF (failure to feed) issue, or the magazine spring might bend too much and lose its elasticity. Once that happens, it won’t be able to feed the round properly, so it won’t enter the feed ramp with the force required to chamber and cycle it.

Alternatively, low-quality springs can also become loose after prolonged use, and this issue can potentially lead to a ‘click’ instead of a ‘bang.’ Another common issue with such aftermarket mags made by third parties is the size and strength of their followers. Poorly made followers can break or might even become deformed after being loaded and unloaded a few times. Add to that the very real danger of the magazine lips losing their structural integrity and shape. To sum it up—all of these issues can easily compromise the legendary reliability of your SIG P226.

The SIG P226 OEM Mag: The Panacea for All of Your SIG P226 Mag-Related Issues

However, it is possible to safely and easily eliminate this one single weakness of your SIG P226 9×19 caliber pistol. The SIG OEM mag will always ensure utmost reliability so that your pistol never misses a beat—whether at the range or in the field.

All SIG P226 OEM magazines are built from steel and are extremely durable. There is no chance of the magazine cracking or breaking in even very harsh environments. They have been treated with rust-resistant coatings and are, therefore, largely impervious to corrosion-related issues. The follower has been constructed from reinforced polymer, while the lips are solid enough to retain their original shape even if dropped fully loaded. If you take proper care of your mags, you can rest assured that these mags will last you for as long as your firearm—if not more.
