Description
With its specially designed jacketed hollow point — the culmination of Federal’s decades of research and development — its terminal effect is more akin to getting hit by a freight train.
This round’s 124 grain projectile features a skived jacket. It strategically weakens the bullet overall, not impacting its ability to pierce a target and its barriers but rather ensuring that expansion splays out evenly and in the right directions. In most self-defense scenarios, this bullet is capable of distributing over 300 ft lbs of energy within its target. It may be possible for someone to punch harder than that, but until their fist is 0.355” in diameter and expands inside of soft tissue this 9mm round will reign supreme.
This round’s nickel plated brass shell casing resists both tarnishing and jamming in a semi-automatic. Federal’s sensitive primer is protected by sealant, so you can count on this round’s potency even if it spends a long time in your carry weapon’s magazine.
